road to Santa Maria

Mecca calls again and my offering needs attention.
I am relentless in my resolve and sweat to finish.
Preparation is key and I am out of time.

I am exhausted and my body aches.
I haven't been eating right and my garage is a mess.
I have spent too much money and I wear a permanent smile.

Its work, its fun and it's an obsession.
Its unsafe, uncomfortable, and obsolete.
It consumes my every resource and asks for more.

If I calculate correctly, this adds up to a bad investment.
My time, my money, my effort, my sanity all sacrificed on the alter of appearance.
It's a perpetual journey through the profane and I love the ride.

Comrades along side me and rapture ahead.
Our offerings have served us well and are received into the fold.
A gathering of chrome, rust, paint and internal combustion, let the ceremony begin
